How much does a website cost in Australia?
A small-business website costs what its page count, selling features and systems behind it demand. At Sites Crafted up to three pages is $500 ex GST, up to ten is $1,000 and up to twenty-five is $2,500, fixed before work starts. Online stores and GoHighLevel builds are quoted on scope.
The honest answer is that it depends on a handful of things you can name in advance. Here they are, followed by our own fixed prices and what a site costs to keep once it is live.

What decides how much a website costs?
Six things account for nearly all of the difference between two quotes for what sounds like the same site.
How many pages
The single biggest factor. Each page needs its own copy, layout and testing, so a three-page site and a twenty-five-page site are different jobs, not the same job at different sizes.
Whether it sells
An online store adds products, variants, shipping rules, tax and payments. That work is most of the build, which is why e-commerce is quoted on scope rather than by page count.
What sits behind it
Bookings, quoting, member logins or a CRM such as GoHighLevel mean a system has to be set up and connected, not just pages written.
Moving an old site
A rebuild that has to keep its search visibility needs every old URL mapped to a new one. Skipping that is cheap on the day and expensive for months afterwards.
Who writes the words
Copy is often left out of a quote and handed back to the owner. Our builds include it, written from what you already tell customers.
How it is billed

What does a website cost to keep running?
The build is paid once. These are the costs that come round again, and who you pay for each.
Your web address
Renewed every year or two with the registrar. It is registered in your name and you pay the registrar directly.
Shopify, Wix, Squarespace or Framer
Each charges its own monthly subscription, paid by you straight to them rather than through us.
WordPress only
WordPress needs a host. We offer hosting and care, quoted separately and optional; you can host it anywhere you like.
Updates and backups
Core, theme and plugin updates, backups and uptime checks. Skip them and a WordPress site becomes a security problem within a year.

Is a $500 website any good?
It can be, if what you need is three pages. A $500 build here is the same design, copy, mobile testing and search setup as a bigger one — what you give up is page count, not care. It suits a sole trader or a business with one clear service.
Is GST on top of those prices?
Yes. Every published price is ex GST, so up to 3 pages is $550 inc GST, up to 10 is $1,100 and up to 25 is $2,750.
How much does an online store cost?
It is quoted on scope. The number of products, how shipping and tax work, and which payment options you need decide the price far more than the page count does. Tell us roughly how many products and we will come back with a fixed figure. Shopify builds.
Should I build it myself on a website builder?
Sometimes, yes. If you have the time and a simple site is enough, a builder’s monthly fee may be all you need. What you are paying for with a build is the copy, the structure, the search setup and not having to learn any of it.
When is it worth spending more?
When the site has to do more than describe the business: take payments, take bookings, rank in several locations, or feed leads into a CRM. That is work behind the pages, and it is priced as such.
