Squarespace, set up rather than switched on.
Squarespace suits a small site you intend to keep editing yourself. Sites Crafted builds them from $500 ex GST, with the structure, titles, images and tracking done properly rather than left at the template defaults. We will say so when Squarespace is the wrong answer for what you are trying to do.
Design-led and self-manageable, for a small site you want to edit yourself.
Why this one
What Squarespace is genuinely good at.
You can edit it
Genuinely. Text, images and pages, without breaking the layout or ringing us.
Design-led defaults
The templates are good, which is rare, and a careful setup on one looks considered rather than generic.
Nothing to maintain
No updates, no plugins, no security patching.
The trade-off
Every platform costs you something.
You cannot take it with you. The site lives on Squarespace and moving means rebuilding. The SEO controls are shallower than WordPress and there is a monthly fee for the life of the site.
Suits: A small site — five or ten pages — that you intend to keep editing yourself, where nobody wants to think about maintenance.
Built on it
Sites we run on Squarespace.
Websites from $500 ex GST
Up to 3 pages $500. Up to 10 pages $1,000. Up to 25 pages $2,500. All ex GST and quoted before we start. E-commerce, GoHighLevel and anything larger is priced on scope.
Frequently asked questions
Can I move a Squarespace site to WordPress later?
Not without rebuilding it. The content can be copied across but the design, layout and structure cannot. That is the trade you make for never having to maintain anything, and it is worth knowing before you start.
What does a Squarespace site cost?
The same as any other site we build: $500 ex GST for up to three pages, $1,000 for up to ten, $2,500 for up to twenty-five. Platform subscriptions, where the platform charges one, are paid by you directly to them and are not part of our price. Full pricing.
Can you move an existing site onto Squarespace?
Usually. What matters is where the content and the URLs are now, because a migration that changes every URL without redirecting them throws away whatever search visibility the old site had. We check that first and tell you what it will cost to keep.
Who looks after it afterwards?
We do, if you want us to. Hosting, updates, backups and someone to call are part of what we quote rather than an upsell at handover. Seventeen sites are on that arrangement now.
